adidas Samba OG x Sporty & Rich

Since 2022, Emily Oberg’s fashion brand, Sporty & Rich, has worked with adidas on various collaborative projects. Elegance and heritage always remains at the heart of their partnership, which has brought about sophisticated versions of the brand’s top silhouettes, from the Stan Smith to the Handball Spezial. In 2024, with the Paris Olympics on the horizon, they came together to release a duo of adidas Originals inspired by the colours of the United States. One a Handball Spezial, the other a Samba OG, each one had retro sporting charm along with a luxurious feel provided by the use of premium materials and stylish design details.

Full of elegance and vintage styling, this adidas Samba OG x Sporty & Rich sneaker honours the sporting traditions of the United States with a colour scheme inspired by the country’s Olympic tones. Premium Cloud White leather is decorated with dashes of suede in Night Indigo and Collegiate Red that  form the famous Three-Stripes logo along each flank. The heel tab comes in Night Indigo suede as well, its surface highlighted with dual branding in white. On the toe, the iconic T-shaped overlay gently contrasts against the upper with its slightly darker off-white hue, which is rendered in plush nubuck. A similar colour has been applied to the satin inner lining, which gives the shoe a truly deluxe feeling. This is further enhanced by the minimalistic golden lettering that announces both brands on the tongue and sidewalls. More gold branding appears on the insoles, which are supplied in Collegiate Red and Night Indigo, while the gum rubber cupsole keeps things classy underfoot. Subtle Sporty & Rich text can be found on the lace tips and a distinctive key chain is provided with the shoe, thus completing the unique design of this retro Samba colourway.
