Kevin Durant signed with Nike in 2007 before his impressive debut season with the Seattle Supersonics. By his second, designer Leo Chang was developing a Nike KD signature silhouette; the first in a high-performance franchise built around Durant’s explosive speed.

In 2019, Durant moved to the Brooklyn Nets, launching the Nike KD 12 with a game-changing Zoom Air Strobel, perforated Phylon foam carrier, double-stacked Zoom Hex heel pods and stabilising quad-axial Flywire. The KD 13 shifted its extra Zoom Air to the forefoot and added sturdy TPU elements to the upper, the 14’s scythe-shaped midfoot strap honoured Durant’s Slim Reaper persona and 2022’s 15 incorporated a solid TPU lockdown frame.

After Durant joined the Phoenix Suns in 2023, the KD 16 was released. Its distinctive sidewall panels, heel Air Strobel and forefoot Zoom Air blended lateral control, impact protection and responsiveness as its cog-inspired traction pattern reflected Durant’s methodical efficiency. This silhouette accompanied him to the Houston Rockets, where he surpassed Wilt Chamberlain, Dirk Nowitzki and Michael Jordan on the all-time scorers list. Then, in June 2026, the KD 19 came out, its unique outer shell featuring supportive TPU elements and its shock-absorbing Cushlon sole pairing with a Zoom Air Strobel for unmatched comfort and responsiveness.
