G.T. Hustle basketball shoes

Nike’s Greater Than franchise launched in 2021 with a trio of shoes focused on emphasising different basketball skills. One was designed for players who use speed to get ahead on the court. This rapid silhouette formed the basis for a high-performance series that came to be known as the G.T. Hustle.

The Nike G.T. Hustle 2 was released in 2023 as the successor to the G.T. Run, whose cushioning setup features lightweight React foam alongside a forefoot Zoom Air unit with a broader Zoom Air Strobel placed over the top for a propulsive toe off. Its upper brings together lightweight mesh and targeted padding with fused seams and zonal texturing to ensure comfortable support and durability, while its regenerative tread pattern grips well on indoor courts.

With the lightweight, responsive Run as its inspiration, the Nike G.T. Hustle 2 took on-court speed to new heights, introducing a low-profile sole unit with a thin layer of foam beneath a full-length Zoom Air Strobel. As well as being incredibly comfortable and supportive, this improves energy return along the entire foot, while the lack of a shank makes for natural, consistent transitions. Circular herringbone lugs ensure solid traction, and the low-to-the-ground build creates excellent court feel. Raised midsole walls add stability alongside the densely woven upper and semi-gusseted tongue, which deliver reliable containment. Weight is kept to a minimum through aspects like the minimal tongue and collar padding, thus ensuring that the G.T. Hustle 2 facilitates rapid, nimble movement.

In 2024, Nike launched the G.T. Hustle 3 with a completely new design based on insight from female athletes like Paige Bueckers, who was in the final year of her illustrious college career at the time. This resulted in a well-cushioned sole featuring a tall, full-length foam stack together with a large volume forefoot Zoom Air Strobel over a visible Mustang Zoom Air unit that curves around a lateral flex point. Shock absorbing and incredibly responsive, this setup delivers a fast, springy underfoot sensation, while its slightly increased heel-to-toe drop combines with the forefoot rocker to make transitions more seamless. Its snug-fitting Radial Knit upper incorporates breathable and durable zones, with cushy tongue and collar padding for comfort and a sturdy heel counter to keep the foot locked in place. Lastly, the concentric wavy lines of its durable rubber outsole deliver top-quality traction on the hardwood.

With its high-tech, speed-focused design and supportive features, the Nike G.T. Hustle allows fast-footed players to move quickly, comfortably and nimbly across the court from the first quarter to the last.
