The Nike Shox franchise is one of Nike’s most unique creations. Based around a distinctive mechanical cushioning system which was designed to harness the concept of energy return and took over a decade to develop, Shox shoes were originally crafted for sports like running and basketball. However, since making a remarkable comeback in the 2020s, it has become a popular lifestyle range known for its comfort and stability as well as its attention-grabbing midsole columns and iconic retro styles.

Shox: Hollow tubes made of a special type of polyurethane foam and set between two stiff TPU moderator plates. This combination offers three outstanding properties: strong shock absorption as the columns compress under the weight of the foot, bouncy energy return as the flexible material springs back to its original shape, and stability from the specialised design of the plates above and below.

Mesh textile on the forefoot and tongue work with the laser perforations running the length of the synthetic leather panels to ventilate the top of the foot.

Two overlays protect the toes while adding durability.

Moulded synthetic panels along the sidewalls are highly durable and supportive.

Central lace loop works with punched eyelets to offer strong lockdown and a comfortable fit.

Firm heel counter secures the back of the foot and improves stability.

Rows of circular lugs cover the forefoot of the modified Waffle outsole, with concentric pivot circles below the Shox columns in the heel for excellent grip.

Rounded indentations below the midfoot and heel provide a subtle suction effect against the floor, further improving traction.

Thick, highly durable rubber offers serious longevity.

Thin insole can be removed for those using custom orthotics.
