This Shox TL sneaker has been decorated in deep, dark tones that go perfectly with its dynamic Y2K design. A structural TPU cage envelops the upper in glossy black stripes, with the comfy material underneath fading from a rich, shadowy Velvet Brown to a warm Denim Turquoise for a grounded look. Desert Khaki lends an almost golden brown tinge to the heel and tongue panelling, while Denim Turquoise accents show up across the design, from the lacing structure and Shox logos to the shield-shaped rear overlay and the outsole. It also creates an outline of soft teal embroidery around each of the black sidewall Swooshes, the contrast drawing attention to the iconic logos and rounding off this distinctive colour scheme in style.

Heritage

The Nike Shox franchise is one of Nike’s most unique creations. Based around a distinctive mechanical cushioning system which was designed to harness the concept of energy return and took over a decade to develop, Shox shoes were originally crafted for sports like running and basketball. However, since making a remarkable comeback in the 2020s, it has become a popular lifestyle range known for its comfort and stability as well as its attention-grabbing midsole columns and iconic retro styles.

Innovation

Shox: Hollow tubes made of a special type of polyurethane foam and set between two stiff TPU moderator plates. This combination offers three outstanding properties: strong shock absorption as the columns compress under the weight of the foot, bouncy energy return as the flexible material springs back to its original shape, and stability from the specialised design of the plates above and below.

Shoe upper

Lightweight, breathable mesh base layer provides comfort and ventilation over the top of the foot.

Midsole

12 Shox columns cover the full length of the midsole, offering comprehensive underfoot support that combines comfort-giving shock absorption with a springy feel.
TPU heel plate supports the columns for top-tier stability, particularly through the lateral side.
Powerful Shox structure makes each step even more stable.
Soft layer of midsole foam placed between the foot and the columns to improve overall comfort.
High drop lifts the heel, reducing pressure on the Achilles and enhancing comfort for all-day use.
Wide base delivers solid stability through the forefoot.

Outsole

Full rubber outsole features modified Waffle lugs of varying geometric shapes across the forefoot, with concentric circular grip lines in the heel for reliable traction.
Rounded indentation below the heel provides a subtle suction effect against the floor, further improving grip.
Rubber extends up over the toe, adding protection.
Flex grooves in the forefoot improve manoeuvrability.
Non-marking rubber is highly durable for long-term use.
