adidas Gazelle Indoor x Bad Bunny

Superstar recording artist Bad Bunny began working with adidas in the early 2020s, when he produced eccentric versions of the Forum model. He soon moved on to the Response and Campus as well, and In 2024, he turned his hand to one of the brand’s most iconic designs – the Gazelle Indoor. While his take on this classic sneaker may seem to be more conventional than his previous collaborative efforts, a closer look reveals that it exhibits a similarly rebellious style, with traditional elements modified or even cut away to form a distinctive shoe that is quite unlike any other Gazelle around. Known as San Juan after the capital of Bad Bunny’s native Puerto Rico, the colourway features light blue and white tones that reference the city’s beaches, the sea that surrounds it and the cobblestones in its historic centre. Alongside these two main tones, minimal red accents complete a colour scheme that gives a subtle nod to the Puerto Rican flag as well. The award-winning singer also took inspiration from the Noche de San Juan festival to give his Gazelle Indoor a one-of-a-kind look that celebrates the vibrant culture of his homeland.

A light shade of sky blue coats the eccentric upper of this adidas Gazelle Indoor x Bad Bunny sneaker, giving it a summery appearance. Premium leather and luxurious suede have been used throughout, the latter material notably forming the warped T-toe overlay, which is unique to this Bad Bunny collaboration. Lines of perforations fan out either side of its curving centre, providing breathability across the toe while also adding to the intriguing design of this special model. Core White wonderfully complements the blue outer as it decorates the Three-Stripes logo on each flank as well as the suede panelling around the laces. The tongue also takes on this elegant hue, and three zig-zagging stripes of vivid red embroidery enliven its surface. Inside the shoe, the words “adidas para Bad Bunny” have been printed onto the sockliner in honour of the collaboration. The Puerto Rican rapper’s rebellious nature then comes through on the heel, where the leather has been cut away to reveal a piece of blue suede with a sizing label sewn into it. Over the top of the foot, the tongue has been doubled up into two layers, with the upper one easily folded forwards to offer a different styling option. All of this is founded upon a semi-translucent Gum sole unit which adds a classic element to this stylishly offbeat sneaker.
