This Nike Dunk Low Next Nature has taken the classic Panda colourway and given it an updated look that incorporates recycled materials. Black and white remain the primary colours to feature across the design, beginning with the rubber cupsole. The outsole is covered in the darker of the two tones, its pivot-circle and lugged grip patterns bringing the wearer top-level traction. Its surface is also speckled with tiny white dots, indicating the use of partially recycled Nike Grind rubber to build it. Meanwhile, the midsole adds a light touch both in weight and tone via the foam cushioning within its interior and the white shading on its exterior.
Smooth synthetic leather fills out the upper, from the white underlayer to the black overlays. The former sections can be seen on the toe box, whose perforations add breathability to the design, and the midfoot panels, as well as in a band around the heel. The latter pieces form the mudguard that surrounds the toe, the eyestay and the rear overlay. This last feature shares the top eyelets with the eyestay before swooping down towards the back of the foot and enclosing the bottom part of the heel. Just above it, there is a semi-circular panel of black leather with white Nike text embroidered into it. Then, extending along the sidewalls from beneath the heel panel is a pair of black swooshes. Each one moves over the rear overlay before settling on the midfoot, for a powerful contrast in colour.
Across the top of the foot, black laces criss-cross over the white canvas tongue, which has a white patch sewn into its peak. Black Nike branding appears there, and soft white padding reaches away from it to form the low-top collar and the inner lining. A surprising flash of colour can be found here as the insole is coated in a radiant shade of neon green. Upon its surface, Nike’s Move to Zero Sunburst logo has been printed in black, thus symbolising the brand’s commitment to sustainability.
