This Nike Dunk Low is decorated in a black and white colour scheme for a timeless look that puts it alongside other Panda designs. The former tone starts things off on the hardy rubber outsole, which has a series of concentric circles emanating out from a disc below the medial forefoot to facilitate comfortable pivot movements. Lying across the top of this solid platform is a white midsole containing foam cushioning material that softens each step. A groove filled with broad white stitches separates two parts of this feature – the main portion, with its textured surface, and a thin band of smooth rubber that connects it to the upper.
Atop this foundation, the outer is made from alternating panels of black and white leather with a premium feel. The underlayer is formed of white sections in the toe box and midfoot, the former holding a series of ventilation holes for added breathability across the forefoot. Meanwhile, another strip of white leather can be seen between the rear overlay and the topline of the collar, whose low-cut design gives this sneaker excellent flexibility, both in a fashion sense and when the wearer is moving about. This strip continues around the back of the shoe, where delicate lines of stitching run parallel to each other from side to side.
All of the upper’s overlays are black in tone, with familiar panels forming the mudguard around the forefoot, the eyestay and the heel overlay. This last feature lies over the top of the eyestay, which in turn joins onto the uppermost part of the mudguard, thus giving a cohesion to these separate pieces of leather. Over the top of the foot, the white tongue is set behind black laces, with a label sewn into its peak in the same dark hue. White Nike branding stands out on this label, and a similar effect has been achieved on the heel panel, whose black leather surface has capitalised Nike lettering embroidered into it in white thread.
The inside of the shoe presents yet more contrasting hues as the padded lining that fills out the inner walls is black, while the insole is white with black Nike text and a swoosh printed upon it. One last flourish of bold black streaks down each flank in the form of a leather swoosh logo to wrap up the classic appearance of this Dunk Low.
