The Nike LeBron 23’s engineered upper incorporates woven performance textiles with tough, court-ready durability. Breathable mesh and premium leather combine on the tongue, and plush, moisture-wicking Nike Sphere fabric lines its underside, before extending throughout the inner for maximum comfort. The sturdy lacing structure is connected to internal bands that hold the foot in place as they reach down the flanks to the footbed. Lockdown is further enhanced by the cutting-edge 360-degree Crown Containment System, which frames the foot, delivering a secure yet flexible fit alongside outstanding multidirectional stability and control.

The LeBron 23 features a drop-in ZoomX foam midsole for lightweight, responsive cushioning. Contained within a durable Cushlon 3.0 carrier, it facilitates fast, high-intensity play and smooth transitions but has also been tuned to ensure unrivalled comfort and exceptional court feel. A carbon fibre midfoot plate then creates excellent torsional structure, improving stability and adding extra energy return. Its unique crown-shaped sidewalls nod to ‘King James’ and his iconic logo, while the outsole forms the number 23, referencing both the model and James’ Michael-Jordan-inspired jersey digits. 23 distinctive colourways were rolled out following the LeBron 23’s global release in October 2025, each telling a story from his remarkable career. They are divided into three eras: ‘The Chosen 1 Arrives’, which covers his first stint at the Cleveland Cavaliers, ‘Taking the Throne’, which details his two championship wins with the Miami Heat and his special Cavaliers title, and ‘Long Live the King’, which chronicles his exploits with the Los Angeles Lakers. James launched the Nike LeBron 23 on his ‘Forever King Tour’ of China in autumn 2025. At the ‘House of King James’ exhibition in Shanghai, he showcased the debut ‘Uncharted’ colourway, describing the silhouette as maybe “the finest” of his career, with an “attention to detail and innovative technology” that can help players “raise their game”. This was followed by a charismatic social media campaign honouring James’ rise to become the “Forever King”.
