Samba MN

During its decades-long history, the adidas Samba has been used for a number of different sports, including indoor football. Over time it became a coveted lifestyle sneaker, but many of its variations continue to celebrate its sporting roots, and the Samba MN is one of the most distinctive.

Like many Samba silhouettes, the upper of the adidas Samba MN combines top-quality materials like leather and suede for a smooth look and a premium feel. In many ways, these retain the style of the original silhouette, though the heel and forefoot have both been redesigned, giving it a new and captivating aesthetic.

Underfoot, the sole unit features a comfortable slab of EVA foam, with two sections of gum rubber making up the outsole. One of these covers the forefoot and the other supports the heel, but each comes with its own tread pattern to provide high levels of traction. Between these separated areas, a Torsion Bar has been added to deliver extra cushioning and stability, its curved shape echoed by the flowing line that arcs across the middle of the outsole from heel-to-toe.

Alongside the familiar Three-Stripes on each flank and the golden Samba lettering on the lateral side, alternative branding has been applied across the Samba MN in the form of the Three Bars logo. This mountain-shaped emblem adorns the forefoot and heel on its own, before appearing with a set of adidas lettering on the outsole, insole and tongue.

Originally released in 2009, when it was known as the Millennium, the adidas Samba MN returned in 2023 when the brand chose to partner with American clothing label Adsum. Following this refined edition, a number of general release colourways were produced, and in 2024, adidas partnered with luxury fashion brand Wales Bonner to create a set of four elegant Samba MN designs. Crafted with a seamless outer that blends the sidewall logos with the rest of the upper, these elegant sneakers are made from fine materials like satin and Nappa leather and feature Wales Bonner’s signature woven details, making them highly sought-after.

The adidas Samba MN incorporates updated elements that deliver excellent support and comfort alongside a captivating new look. Thus, it offers a fashionable alternative to the age-old classic while remaining rooted in its rich sporting heritage.
