Jordan 1 Mid

This compelling Jordan 1 Mid is defined by its bold use of colour. Three tones make up the entire design, with two of them appearing on the durable rubber cupsole that underpins the shoe. The outsole, whose circular and straight grip patterns bring the wearer high-quality traction, is yellow from heel to toe. This vivid, almost golden hue is known as Taxi, which matches the sneaker’s nickname. As the outsole becomes the midsole, this colour shifts to white and continues across the rest of its surface until it reaches the upper. Behind its textured exterior, the midsole contains foam cushioning alongside a pocket of Nike Air in the heel for plush comfort underfoot.

On the upper, the addition of black alongside Taxi and white creates a series of powerful contrasts. The last of these tones appears only once – through the midfoot panels which taper into thin strips of leather as they reach towards the back of the shoe. Meanwhile, smooth Taxi leather forms the forefoot overlays, the eyestay, the heel counter and the collar wrap. All of these pieces are held in place by dual bands of stitching, except for the outer edge of the eyestay, which is sewn down with a single line of thread. This continues across the overlays at the back of the forefoot and the top of the collar wrap on each side. On the midfoot below, an additional line of white stitching runs backwards from the eyestay to the top edge of the swoosh before cutting back across it to move diagonally towards the midsole.

As well as these yellow and white segments, the upper hosts several black sections, firstly in the toe box, whose ventilation holes provide breathability around the forefoot. This black hue moves up to the top of the tongue, which has a Taxi label sewn into it. Pressed into the surface of this label is a black Jumpman and the word “Air”. Black coats the inside of the shoe all the way to the insole, which once again exhibits Taxi yellow tones, apart from on the Jumpman silhouette that has been printed upon it. Back on the outer, the collar is also black, as are the leather swooshes that stand out along the flanks. Finally, there is a set of black Air Jordan Wings printed onto the lateral collar of this striking Air Jordan 1.
