The adidas Samba was originally created as a sporting shoe, but over the years it developed into a stylish lifestyle sneaker. In the early 2020s, it became a popular fashion item, and adidas designed several alternative versions of the original, one of which is the elegant Sambae.
The most striking alteration to the adidas Sambae is its platform sole unit. This both lifts the wearer and gives extra soft comfort underfoot, while the rubber outsole incorporates reliable tread formations for solid traction.
Along with the elevated sole come refined details and premium materials. The upper is made from smooth leather with suede or nubuck accents used on the T-toe overlay, which has been crafted using a stitch-and-turn technique that gives a more seamless appearance. Instead of the usual leather Three-Stripes logos, the ones on the Sambae have been embroidered into the flanks, bringing it an extra touch of class.
Minimal branding and stylish colour-blocking make this a compelling model. There is an adidas Trefoil on the tongue patch and golden foil lettering on the lateral sidewall, while the sunken heel tab has a clean look with no branding at all. This allows the adidas Sambae to retain the understated sporting charm of the original, as its sophisticated design updates add a luxurious edge to the classic lifestyle sneaker.
