The ASICS Gel-Nimbus series dates back to the late 1990s, when it was introduced to provide runners with a stable, well-cushioned option for long distances. Over the years, it has undergone plenty of updates, both aesthetic and performance-based, and in 2023, this evolution culminated in an incredibly comfortable silhouette called the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 25.

ASICS refined many aspects of the Gel-Nimbus 25 to make it an even more effective running shoe than its predecessors. The stacked midsole contains 20% more foam than its predecessor and is made from FF Blast Plus Eco material, which is manufactured using an environmentally friendly process so that it is both comfortable and sustainable. PureGEL cushioning is concealed within the heel, providing responsive bounce, powerful shock absorption and a softer underfoot feel. The outsole features hard-wearing AHAR rubber, which ensures longevity and grip on various surfaces. 

The upper of the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 25 incorporates at least 75% recycled materials in its engineered knit construction. It is both stretchy and breathable, moulding securely to the foot, the sturdy heel counter enhances lockdown without causing discomfort, and the partially gusseted tongue improves the overall fit. This last feature is thinly woven which, when added to the stretchy collar, makes for a more seamless on-off experience and a tailored feeling around the foot. Further practical design features include the plush, moisture-wicking Ortholite X-55 sockliner, the convenient pull loop on the heel and the reflective effects that illuminate the shoe in low light. Despite containing all of these technological elements, it is remarkably lightweight, meaning that the wearer can go faster for longer.

Minimal yet stylish branding appears across the Gel-Nimbus 25, beginning with the familiar ASICS logo on each flank, which has been lightly applied for a subtle look. Meanwhile, a diminutive emblem can be seen on the tongue patch, and elegant text decorates the heel and midsole, giving it a sophisticated aesthetic. Alongside this classy appearance, the advanced, comfort-driven design of the ASICS Gel-Nimbus 25 makes it an excellent choice for everyday training and long-distance running.
