ASICS has introduced dozens of high-performing mesh runners into its sporting lineup over the decades. During the early 2020s, these became popular lifestyle models known for combining a nostalgic look with functional features. In 2021, the brand brought out a new sneaker in this old-school style known as the JOG 100S.

The upper of the ASICS JOG 100S follows the same principle as the designs that inspired it: a breathable mesh base layer and faux leather overlays. These synthetic panels, which incorporate at least 75% recycled fibres, form stylish patterns across the upper, while additional lines of perforations have been stamped into them at various points on the flanks to deliver yet more ventilation. A traditional lacing system locks the foot in place, and the laces themselves are secured by a textile loop in the centre of the tongue.

Supporting this classy upper is a single slab of EVA foam which acts as a soft foundation for the foot. A plush Ortholite sockliner enhances comfort even further, making the JOG 100S ideal for everyday use. Underfoot, diagonal grip lines cut back and forth across the rubber outsole, creating triangular shapes that produce dependable traction.

Stylistically, the ASICS JOG 100S has a powerful retro charm, and yet sleek modern vibes arise from its contoured midsole and curvilinear overlays. Minimal branding adorns the tongue and lateral heel, while bold ASICS stripes decorate the flanks for a classic touch. Since the JOG 100S was first launched in 2021, various colourways have been released, many of which present a classy blend of metallic silver panelling, a neutral, off-white background and eye-catching tonal accents.

With its archival, sporty look and reliable comfort-giving features, the ASICS JOG 100S is both fashionable and functional, making it a versatile choice for stylish daily wear.
