The Nike Mercurial Superfly first came out in 2009 with the aim of revolutionising football boots through the use of technologies inspired by rapid track-spikes. FlyWeave Ultra: An engineered performance material combining woven yarns with textile mesh to create a thin, lightweight yet structured upper that is incredibly supportive.

Zoom Air: Highly responsive pod filled with pressurised air and tensile fibres that collect and store energy as they compress and return it to the player as they spring back to their original shape. Placed directly beneath the metatarsals in the forefoot to provide a snappy underfoot sensation and powerful propulsion at toe off.

ACC (All Conditions Control): A special water-repellent treatment applied to the upper to ensure consistent friction against the ball in both wet and dry conditions. It is fully integrated into the upper material so as not to wear away or lose effectiveness over time.

Natural texture of the woven textiles creates friction against the ball for excellent touch and control. This is enhanced by the thinness of the material and the snug, streamlined fit, which give the player a direct boot-to-ball sensation when dribbling, passing and striking.

Textured effect continues across Swoosh branding so that the Superfly’s bold aesthetic can be maintained without reducing control.

ACC treatment offers consistent touch in wet and dry conditions. It is integrated into the upper to prevent degradation and thus sustain performance over time.

Sturdy FlyWeave Ultra material delivers solid multidirectional containment during everything from high-speed sprints to lateral cuts and sudden stops. 

Lockdown is further enhanced by the synthetic Nikeskin coating on the tongue and the firm heel structure.

Stretchy piece of Flyknit at the top of the integrated tongue allows it to stretch when putting the football boot on and provides comfort over the instep during play.
