Nike Zoom Vomero Roam trainers "Black & Light Silver"

Initially designed as a long-distance running shoe in 2011, the Vomero 5 made a grand return in 2018 when Samuel Ross chose it for a unique collaboration with his fashion brand, A-COLD-WALL*. This precipitated a powerful revival in 2022 which has seen the silhouette rise to prominence once more. Building on this success, in 2024, Nike developed the rugged Vomero Roam variant, fitting it with winterised features designed to withstand harsh conditions.

Zoom Air: Two pockets of pressurised air with tensile fibres have been placed in the midsole to provide responsive support and effective shock absorption.

Cushlon foam: Lightweight EVA foam blended with rubber to offer plush comfort and cushioned support as well as a touch of responsiveness.

Hard-wearing upper combines durable suede, water-resistant leather and strong Ripstop nylon offer full protection against the elements.

Sturdy heel counter delivers stability and support around the rearfoot.

Rubberised mudguard wraps high up the sidewalls, shielding the entire foot from ground-level debris.

Substantial reflective areas illuminate the wearer in low-light situations.

Convenient toggle fastening system secured using hook-shaped clip ensures firm lockdown while making it easy to get the shoe on and off.

Closed seams ensure all-round weatherproofing and help insulate the foot.

Cushlon foam offers spongy comfort from heel to toe.

Larger stack of foam elevates the wearer, positioning them further away from mud and groundwater.

Two Zoom Air units, one in the forefoot and another in the heel, provide lightweight comfort, responsiveness and shock absorption without adding extra bulk.

Firmer piece of carrier foam stabilises the heel.

High Abrasion Rubber Tech (HART) outsole is incredibly durable and grippy, offering reliability during prolonged use.

Hard-wearing rubber can be more thinly spread, thus dropping weight and increasing flexibility.

Waffle lugs reference the shoe’s running heritage, combining with the large external grip pads and the prominent tread lines cutting diagonally across the heel to deliver boot-like traction.

Flex grooves throughout rubber allow more natural flexion of the foot.

Comfortable thermal lining keeps the foot warm.

Moderate padding on insole increases comfort.

Insole can be removed for those with custom orthotics.
