Luka 5
Since releasing Luka Dončić’s first signature shoe in 2022, Jordan has evolved the series relatively quickly, reaching the Luka 5 in early 2026. A technological upgrade on its predecessor, it is crafted to support those who play like the LA Lakers’ star – controlled and patient but ready to strike in an instant.
The Jordan Luka 5’s upper features a flexible, breathable mesh with fused overlays protecting the toe and eyestay. Plush fabric brings a luxurious touch to the collar and synthetic piping adds durability alongside the IsoBand framing the sidewalls and heel. Internally connected to an IsoPlate and Flightwire lacing, the IsoBand provides containment and stability for outstanding balance and control during dynamic movement, while its open sides reveal ventilated panels. Reinforced top eyelets and a partially gusseted tongue improve lockdown, with comfort increased by the plush padding on the inner part of the heel as its sturdy outer layer delivers structure. Lastly, torsional rigidity is centred around strategic propulsion zones at the heel and forefoot for a stable, confident step.
Supporting the Luka 5 is a well-cushioned midsole of Cushlon 3.0 foam with a full-length Zoom Air Strobel that gives outstanding comfort and responsive bounce. Low-to-the-ground, it offers reliable ground feel and nimbleness as its stabilising IsoPlate provides the lateral support necessary to achieve controlled omnidirectional movement. This is enhanced by the herringbone tread that fills the centre of the lightweight, durable HART outsole and the ridged grip lines around its edge, which together ensure quality on-court traction.
Aesthetically, the Jordan Luka 5 is sleek and stylish. Distinctive curvilinear design lines trace its upper, and classy branding effects add charisma. Luka’s interlocking logo stands out on the tongue, and a Jordan Jumpman adorns both the lateral forefoot and lower lace loop. In a tribute to Luka’s daughter, an embroidered heart appears on the underside of the tongue, while the heel tab features five stripes to represent five signature models. His motto, “Non Desistas Non Exieris” – “Never give up, never surrender” – is embossed onto the IsoBand, reflecting his resilience in the face of challenging circumstances, and the shoe’s technological innovations are outlined in a circular line of text alongside another Luka logo on the visible Zoom bubble of the outsole.
Ahead of its January 2026 release, Jordan built on their ‘Bad Luka, Nice Shoes’ narrative in a humorous campaign depicting Luka sending his new shoe to basketball executive Adrian Wojnarowski, former Mavericks teammate Boban Marjanović and even NBA referees as an apology for his bad behaviour. Meanwhile, Luka debuted the Viper Edge and Venom launch colourways during a Christmas game against the Houston Rockets. Both incorporate an electrifying Illusion Green inspired by the calm composure and swift attack of Slovenia’s vipers as a reference to Luka’s native country and his poised, relentless play style.
The Jordan Luka 5 represents a powerful evolution of the signature series, introducing supportive technologies that enhance stability, comfort and control so players can perform at their best from the first quarter to the last.
