Nike has been making golf shoes since the 1980s, but it wasn’t until the mid-2010s that the brand began adapting classic Air Max sneakers for the sport. Since then, many silhouettes have been added to the list, with the iconic Air Max 95 Golf coming in early 2026.

The upper of the Nike Air Max 95 Golf is made of waterproof synthetic leather that keeps the wearer warm and dry when out on the course. It is also durable and easy to clean, with a large forefoot overlay to protect the toes and a cushy mesh tongue for comfort. Its secure lacing system emulates that of the original sneaker, allowing the wearer to achieve a personalised fit with firm lockdown. Extra lace loops on the centre of the tongue help hold everything in place, and the golf-specific collar features an improved height and shape alongside generous foam padding for comfort throughout every swing.

Underfoot, the Air Max 95 Golf is supported by a comfort-giving foam midsole fitted with Air Max cushioning for excellent shock absorption and bounce in both the forefoot and heel. The outsole’s golf-friendly design incorporates chunky, jagged lugs made from sticky rubber, with generous grooves adding flexibility. This provides reliable grip across all golfing surfaces alongside torsional support for a powerful swing.

With only minor changes to its design, the Nike Air Max 95 Golf retains the classic streetwear look of the original. Distinctive anatomy-inspired features like the stunning layered sidewall panelling remains, as does its classy branding, which includes a miniature Swoosh on the lateral ankle, an Air Max tongue patch and a Nike Air heel logo. Lastly, its extensive visible airbags give that unforgettable Air Max aesthetic.

Launched in 2026, shortly after the original AM95 had reached its 30th anniversary, the Air Max 95 Golf carries on the tradition of Nike icons to be adapted for the golf course, allowing fans of its timeless design to play the sport in comfort and style.
