G.T. Cut 4 basketball shoes

Nike’s first G.T. Cut was launched in 2021 to enhance speed and agility for rapid, controlled cuts. In 2026, the G.T. Cut 4 took the series in an exciting new direction through an avant-garde design filled with modern innovations.

The cutting-edge upper of the Nike G.T. Cut 4 features a groundbreaking exoskeleton made of sturdy synthetic materials, with lightweight, comfort-focused textiles on the medial toe. Structured lateral ribs create stability and prevent ankle rolling, while the tongue is integrated along one side to contain the foot. Soft padding around the 3D-moulded heel collar enhances comfort and lockdown, serrated panelling protects the tongue and vamp, and their moulded structure produces a comfortable anatomical fit. Lastly, vented slits punctuate the tongue area, and the reinforced dual eyelets hold the laces in place.

The foundation of the G.T. Cut 4 is an advanced sole unit consisting of multiple high-tech layers. A lightweight ZoomX 3.0 foam drop-in midsole starts things off, presenting the foot with a plush, responsive platform. Paired with a full-length parabolic Zoom Air Strobel, this delivers unrivalled speed and acceleration. The forefoot is stabilised by a rubberised RBR-X insert beside the metatarsal area, and a firm Cushlon foam carrier supports the plushness of the ZoomX, especially around the back of the foot. Despite its complex layering, the sole provides low-to-the-ground court feel, while the medial forefoot flange improves stability and the flexible Pebax forefoot plate delivers a final supportive touch. The generative traction pattern of the durable rubber outsole offers outstanding grip on hardwood courts so that players can achieve powerful yet controlled acceleration and deceleration.

Aesthetically, the Nike G.T. Cut 4 takes the series in a futuristic direction with its sleek exoskeleton and striking ridged contours. A shiny GT logo adorns the heel, and dappled Swooshes decorate the toe and tongue, with more minimalist Swooshes accenting the rear midsole. A charismatic logo cuts dramatically across the outsole, its visible window highlighting the advanced Air Zoom cushioning to complete the distinctive look.

The G.T. Cut 4 was teased by Nike athlete and 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year Paige Bueckers during her All-Star debut in July 2025. She appeared in the stunning ‘Preheat’ colourway, with its shimmering teal-blue outer, stylish black accents and translucent grey outsole, generating tremendous hype and speculation about what its performance features might be. A few months later, Nike honoured China’s passionate basketball community by officially revealing the shoe at November’s International Import Expo trade fair in Shanghai ahead of its January 2026 release.

Building on the amazing success of its predecessors, the Nike G.T. Cut 4 takes sporting innovation to new heights with its revolutionary upper and technologically advanced sole, helping fast-paced players effortlessly create space through a remarkable blend of speed and agility.
