Storytelling details can be found across the silhouette, from Morant’s personal logo and inspirational quotes to his Memphis Grizzlies jersey number, which is repeated on the underside of the Ja-Frame in a nod to his elite grassroots basketball program, Twelve Time.

Nike and Ja have always shown a desire to help up-and-coming basketball players, so it is fitting that he debuted the Ja 4 himself at the brand’s Elite Youth Basketball League in Las Vegas. The event was held in July 2026, with Morant talking directly to young hoopers about collaborating on its design. He also took to social media to officially announce the five initial colourways ahead of the launch of the ‘Nightmare’ edition on August 13th.
