The Nike Pegasus has been supporting athletes since the early 1980s, using the latest technologies to help runners in their quest for comfort and speed. In 2024, the Pegasus 41 took the brand’s premier line of running shoes to its most advanced point yet by bringing in new features that had never been seen on a Pegasus before.

The main innovation on the Nike Pegasus 41 is its full-length ReactX foam midsole, which offers soft, durable cushioning and 13% more energy return than standard React. When added to the Zoom Air units in the forefoot and heel, this upgrade makes the shoe supportive, responsive and comfortable. Nike has even managed to produce it more sustainably through a more economical manufacturing process that consumes 43% less carbon than the previous model.

The other key innovation of the Pegasus 41 is the Dynamic Midfoot Fit system, which gives it excellent lockdown. Made up of an internal band that encircles the midfoot and attaches to the laces, it holds the foot firmly in place, allowing the wearer to move with confidence and ease.

Alongside these two major changes, the Nike Pegasus 41 has received more subtle modifications, such as redesigned sidewalls that prevent rolling and a curved outsole that facilitates a smooth transition through the foot. Meanwhile, the upper is made from a contemporary engineered mesh that delivers improvements in breathability and comfort while also providing lightweight durability. Lastly, reflective strips on the toe and heel illuminate the wearer at night for added safety. All of this comes together to take athletes into an advanced future where movement is both easier and more comfortable.
