Nike launched its first Chron skate shoe in the early 2020s. Stripped back and accessible, it proved to be a popular silhouette, so the brand updated it soon after with the release of the SB Chron 2.

The Nike SB Chron 2 features a durable yet flexible canvas upper with plush, hard-wearing suede panels. It has been designed around an updated shape, with the collar and heel in particular reworked to deliver the best possible fit. Its lacing system incorporates a suede eyestay with punched eyelets for reliable lockdown, reinforced eyelets at the top and a lace loop in the centre of the tongue to keep everything in place. Dual lines of stitching on the hard-wearing extended toe-bumper and the supportive heel counter ensure longevity, while light padding softens the collar and tongue to provide high-quality comfort throughout.

A flexible vulcanised sole supports the SB Chron 2, with foam cushioning offering comfort and wrap-around foxing for increased protection around the toe. The outsole’s tread pattern takes on a radial herringbone design inspired by the classic Air Force 1 that emanates outwards from a circular grip pad beneath the ball of the foot to provide reliable traction. Meanwhile, the cushy Solarsoft insole increases comfort while maintaining the shoe’s lightweight construction.

Minimalist in appearance, the suave Nike SB Chron 2 is stylistically versatile and looks great whether skating or doing everyday activities. Leather Swooshes and a woven Nike SB tongue patch are the only branding elements on the upper, producing an elegantly sophisticated aesthetic. Lastly, the dynamic outsole tread incorporates an etched heel Swoosh to complete the stripped back design.
