Nike launched Tech Fleece in 2013, with the series becoming incredibly popular for its soft, lightweight, warming fabric. Building on this solid foundation, the brand spent the next decade and beyond expanding the franchise, leading to the 2026 release of a versatile collection of sporty, comfort-focused women’s apparel called Studio Fleece.

Nike Studio Fleece was created using insights from over 300 women around the world to optimise everything from fit and feel to durability and aesthetics. The result is a comprehensive, head-to-toe collection comprising three functionally distinct weights of fabric and two varieties of fit. Lightweight garments feature thin, breathable materials that can be easily layered, medium-weight ones offer a versatile balance of comfort and flexibility for everyday use, and heavyweight items are designed to be warm and structured so that they keep the wearer cosy during cold weather. The lightweight and medium-weight pieces are made from ultra-soft fabric that has undergone a five-time sueded face treatment, while the heavyweight fleece uses a brushed, reverse-heather build, with both techniques delivering outstanding comfort. In terms of fit, there is the standard cut, which has a classic, close-to-the-body feel, and an oversized style that is laidback and roomy. This variety forms the basis for a curated collection of hoodies, joggers, sweatshirts, shorts, trousers and tops which are simple to mix and match, allowing individuals to assemble distinctive, personalised outfits for low-intensity gym workouts, daily errands and relaxing at home.

Each Studio Fleece item has been carefully considered to provide optimal performance across fit, feel and durability. For example, the hoodie features a spacious, self-fabric hood with darted stitching that gives a clean fit and helps the material hold its three-dimensional structure, the joggers are shaped to create extra room through the seat and thighs, and the shorts incorporate a split hem and 10cm inseam for casual sporty vibes. Details like the redesigned underarm cuts on the hoodies and sweatshirts facilitate effortless layering, while ribbed hems and cuffs prevent heat from escaping, thus ensuring snug comfort throughout. The collection also delivers on style with chic embroidered logos, impeccable fits and classy colourways such as Birch Heather and Total Black. The deep, rich tone of this last design is achieved through the use of an innovative, fade-resistant dye that maintains its clarity for a minimum of 30 washes.

To boost the launch of Studio Fleece, Nike enlisted well-known athletes from across the sporting world, including Olympic gold medallists Sha’Carri Richardson and Alysa Liu, and footballing star Lauren James. They were joined by South Korean singer Karina and others in a campaign that celebrated the collection’s impressive ability to blend sport, culture and fashion.

With its appealing versatility, casual style and plush, premium fabrics, Nike Studio Fleece is a compelling series of women’s activewear and “the ultimate uniform for the everyday athlete”.
