Nike’s technical apparel dates back to the late 1970s, when the classic Windrunner jacket was released. Lightweight and weather-resistant, it revolutionised sportswear, paving the way for the highly functional Tech Pack and Tech Fleece launches of the late 2000s and early 2010s. These soon became streetwear staples, and in 2024, Nike built on their popularity with the first Tech Woven collection.

The Nike Tech Woven series debuted with a stylish tracksuit made from a lightweight, breathable fabric that blends nylon with elastane for a stretchy, comfort-focused feel. As well as providing unrestricted manoeuvrability, the crinkly material is infused with innovative Dri-FIT technology, which draws sweat and moisture away from the skin to the surface of the garment. From there, it can evaporate quickly to keep the wearer cool and dry, even in warm conditions. The Tech Woven jacket is designed to fit loosely around the body, with articulated elbows that give a better range of motion and a convenient, two-way, full-length zip. Bungee drawstrings with cord locks secure both the hem and the hood, allowing smooth adjustment and on-the-go customisation. Lastly, a heritage 26-degree chevron pattern cuts across the chest in a classy nod to the original Nike Windrunner. Alongside the jacket are two trouser options: an oversized, relaxed-fitting pair with elasticated cords at the waist and ankle, and a slimmer one with a bolo tie-inspired drawcord at the top that tapers towards a narrower, zippered ankle. Both feature classic Nike Tech details like tape-reinforced pockets, articulated knees and stylish branding like the famous Nike Futura logo.

Following the success of the black and Cobalt launch colourway, Nike released six more designs in October 2024, before adding the striking, ultra-reflective ‘Flash’ jacket shortly thereafter. Since then, the Nike Tech Woven collection has expanded to include shorts, gilets and other sports apparel which can support athletes through everything from active warm-ups and cool-downs to comfortable everyday wear. Nike has also partnered with football teams including Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea to create special Tech Woven jackets and trousers adorned with each club’s distinctive crest.

Today, Nike Tech Woven is known for outstanding comfort and freedom of movement in both sporting and casual contexts. Its mix of adjustable cords and zips allow athletes to personalise their look, while the signature Tech elements provide excellent functionality alongside a classy, laidback style.
